Modern Slavery Act Transparency Statement 2018
This statement sets out the steps Millman Limited has taken to comply with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the ‘Act’).
Business activities of the Company
Millman Limited is an International Chemicals Trading Company, registered on the 10th May 1981.
We specialise in supplying Chemicals and Raw Materials in containers, rail tanks, ISO-tanks, and in bulk to India, the Middle East, South East Asia and the Far East.
The Company operates from offices in London, Shanghai, New Delhi, and Cairo.
Suppliers from which material is purchased are based worldwide, the majority are not considered to be at high risk of modern slavery or human trafficking.
The following are the ways the Company assesses whether particular activities or countries are high risk in relation to modern slavery or human trafficking:
Supplier and Customer assurance
An analysis of high-risk suppliers/customers are undertaken as part of the Company’s compliance and KYC control measures.
The Company undertakes due diligence when considering new suppliers/customers, encourages long-standing relationships, and makes clear our commitment to responsible corporate behaviour in all business activities.
Employee assurance
Each office requires appropriate right-to-work documentation for all staff worldwide.
All Employees are encouraged to be alert to risks, however small, and to report their concerns for management to act upon as appropriate.
The Company is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or our supply chains. This Statement affirms its intention to act ethically in our business relationships.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be regularly reviewed and updated as necessary.
